The Allman Brothers Band
in
Camden
With their own honorary plaque in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, The Allman Brothers have already secured a permanent spot in music history, and continue to show the world that they are a group with both legs and heart. Dubbed by Willie Nelson, himself, as "rock and roll's greatest jammin' blues band," the Allman Brothers' well-executed and passionately-played music presents an intensity so extraordinary it is unparalleled by that of the hungriest newbies emerging on the scene. And if there was ever an indication that fabulous seven, wasn't about to slow down anytime soon, the year 2003 was it. Last year, the band released the critically-acclaimed Hittin The Note, their 24th studio project, and received a Grammy nomination for the track entitled "Instrumental Illness." Later that year, they released the certified gold DVD Live At The Beacon Theatre, and were recognized by Rolling Stone for featuring four of the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time; the late Duane Allman was cited as #2, while current guitarists Warren Hughes and Derek Trucks earned the #23 and #81 spots, respectively. In addition, the band was one of only two artists whose live albums ranked in Rolling Stone's recently published list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
With a career spanning several decades, the Brothers have consistently toured nationally every year since 1989, averaging more than 60 live shows per year.
