"There's no mystery here," said Miller to Rolling Stone magazine. "It's just a good time." It is often said that the best always do it with ease, and so it is with Steve Miller and his band, who have delivered consistent excellence throughout decades in the industry.
The band's music comes from a rare, varied background, drawing from Chicago's Southside clubs as well as San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury experimentalism and then transcended those roots en route to a sound that is wholly distinctive yet enormously influential on its own.
Miller's Greatest Hits 1974-78 sold more than 13 million copies in 20 years in release-one of the longest-running success stories in record industry history. In September 2003 the band released, Young Hearts the Complete Greatest Hits with brand new 24-bit mastering technology, which enhanced old gems like "Abracadabra," previously not included on the Greatest Hits album.
