The Oakland Raiders lost one of the finest quarterback the league as seen in Rich Gannon to retirement, but NFL journeyman Chris Collins has taken over the helm. More importantly the Raiders acquired one of the most flamboyant personalities and arguably best receiver in the NFL in Randy Moss. Add in the Raiders signing of LaMont Jordan and you have a recipe for one of the most potentially explosive and productive offenses in the NFL this season.
The Raiders, however, were very weak on the defensive side of the ball. In an effort to sure up their defense, the Raiders signed free-agent Derrick Burgess and two outstanding cornerbacks, Fabian Washington and Stanford Routt, drafted this past off season.
The Oakland Raiders have a lot of energy and anticipation surrounding them for the 2005 NFL season, and with the new additions on the offensive and
defensive sides of the ball the promised land, it's probably agreed, is a lot closer than it has been in years.
