Jimmy Messina
in
North Charleston
Loggins and Messina cranked out five gold and two platinum albums between 1970 and 1976 when the duo split. Before they parted company, they accounted for such hits as "Your Momma don’t Dance and Your Daddy
don’t Rock ‘n Roll," "House at Pooh Corner," "Vehevala," and "Danny’s Song." Kenny Loggins’ "I’m Alright" was featured in what many call the greatest golf movie
ever, "Caddyshack" (the dancing gopher). His "Danger Zone" propelled the fighter jets in the Tom Cruise movie
"Top Gun", and "Footloose" from the movie of the same
name garnered Loggins the first of two Oscar nominations. The other was for "For the First Time," which was featured in the movie "One Fine Day." As a member of such seminal rock legends as Buffalo Springfield, Poco and Loggins & Messina, Jim has had his hand - as writer, singer, guitarist, producer and engineer - in some of the definitive music of the Rock Era. His hit songs include: "Watching the River Run," "Travelin' Blues," "Your Mama Don't Dance" and "Pathway to Glory."
