The Houston Texans are not the "new boys in town" anymore. Texans fans are expecting progress this upcoming 2005 NFL season,
with visions of their first playoff berth. Behind the offensive general and quarterback David Carr the Texans offense is expected to much improved, which
Parallels Carr's progression at the position over the previous two NFL seasons. Carr completed 61% of his passes last season and threw for 16 touchdowns. Running back honors go to Domanick Davis, who had 14 touchdowns last season, and three games with 100 plus yards in rushing. Andre Johnson is a very strong, big and fast wide receiver, and his productivity was excellent as he lead the team with 79 catches last season.
The Houston Texans still have a defense that gave up an awful lot of points last season, 339, and this needs to be addressed before any fan fare about the
playoffs can be discussed. September 18th the Houston Texans and Steelers take each other on in Houston. This will be an early season test for a team with
higher expectations that the outcomes of the last few seasons.
