Since bursting on the pop music scene with her colorful hair, off-the-wall clothes and ambitious music, Cyndi Lauper has been known to show people how to break away and have some fun.
Cyndi Lauper began her musical career as a 12 year old playing the guitar and has carried her love of music throughout her career. In 1983, she released her first solo album She's So Unusual, which has sold over nine million copies in the US alone. She's So Unusual featured the popular singles "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," "All Through the Night," and the number-one smash hit "Time After Time." She has gone on to release seven albums including the double platinum True Colors, A Night To Remember, and most recently Shine: The EP.
In 1999, Lauper hit the road as a special guest in Cher's "Believe" tour and was asked personally by Cher to open for her "Living Proof- The Farewell Tour." Cyndi Lauper has also received many awards during her two decades as a performer, including Best New Artist Grammy, Rolling Stones Best New Artist and many MTV video awards.
