Set in 1920's Chicago, a poor and hopeless stage and theater performer Roxie Hart ends up shooting to death her scoundrel of a boyfriend after he announces to poor Roxie that he's been using her for sex all along. Roxie, while in prison meets the infamous Velma Kelly, in prison for murdering her husband and sister, who Velma caught "in the act". Roxie is defended by the famous trial lawyer Billy Flynn who is undefeated in any case he's defended, and brings a mix of amazing and theatrical court appearance, and ends up also defending Velma Kelly. But to what end?
