Grammy-nominated sax superstar, Boney James, will perform live at Borgata"s Music Box theater on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at 8 p.m.
The Grammy-nominated, chart-topping musician began pursuing his musical ambitions in elementary school, playing the clarinet, before discovering his primary instrument - the saxophone. Now one of the preeminent contemporary instrumentalists of our time, James" music is beloved by both the music industry and fans alike.
James" current album, "Ride", earned him his first Grammy nomination for Best Pop Instrumental Album and four 2003 Smooth Jazz Award nominations. The album also topped the album sales chart, and launched radio smashes in both the Urban Adult Contemporary and Smooth Jazz radio formats, and was certified as his fourth straight GOLD album.
In addition to his Grammy nomination, James has also been honored with a Soul Train Award, a NAACP Image Award nomination, and numerous National Smooth Jazz Awards, including Best Saxophonist and Male Artist of the Year. James has racked up an impressive chart resume with over a dozen No.1 singles and four straight No.1 albums.
James" performance at Borgata will preview songs from his next studio album, "Pure" (due for release this summer) as well fan favorites from past albums.
Tickets, which go on sale April 30th at 10 a.m., are $34 each. Tickets can be secured by visiting the Borgata box office.
