The Wedding Singer Tickets
The Wedding Singer Broadway Production is based on the New Line Cinema movie of the same name, (the 1998 Movie written by Tim Herlihy, and stared Adam Sandler as Robbie Hart, Drew Barrymore as Julia Sullivan). The Wedding Singer Broadway Show is based in the 1980's, where Robbie, a New Jersey wedding signer who still lives with his mother, has given up hope of large scale musical success, but is looking forward to his upcoming marriage as a pinnacle of his life. His fiancee dumps him, and when he thinks he has found someone else who is perfect for him...it turns out she is engaged to a successful New York Investment jerk. The Wedding Singer on Broadway parallels the 1998 movie that inspired it and was nominated for a 2006 Tony Award for Best Musical (as well as nominated for 2006 Tony Awards for: Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, & Best Choreography). This original musical comedy has music by Matthew Sklar (except two song which appeared in the movie: Somebody Kill Me, and Grow Old With You ); and includes song like: Someday, Today You Are a Man, If I Told You.
The Wedding Singer arrived on Broadway on April of 2006 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre in New York City. The opening night cast includes Stephen Lynch in his Broadway Debut as Robbie Hart (who was nominated for a 2006 Tony Award Best Actor in a Musical), Laura Benanti (who was nominated for a 2002 Tony Award Best Featured Actress in a Musical for Into The Woods) as Julia, Richard H. Blake as Glen Guglia.
