The Indianapolis Colts have one of the premiere quarterbacks behind the arm and, in this case, brain of Peyton Manning. Manning has turned out to be an
absolute academic on the subject of running and football teams offense and reading defenses. In the 2004 Manning broke Dan Marino's touchdown record and had five times as many touchdowns as he did interceptions. Add those stats to eight games throwing over 300 yards, two of them for over 400 yards in passing. All that offensive productivity couldn't get the Colts past the amazing New England Patriots though, and the Colts will have to sure up some areas in there
defense to have any one believe they can overcome that hurdle in the 2005 NFL campaign.
The Colts offense also has some great talents at running back and wide receiver. Edgerain James is a versatile back as he ran for an AFC leading 2,031
yards in total offense. James also lead the Colts in rushing, had 73 first downs and 51 catches. Marvin Harrison is one of the best receivers in the NFL with 86
catches in each of the last six seasons. Harrison also had 15 touchdowns last year, which gave a grand total of 77 over the last six season.
The Indianapolis Colts are definitely at contender in the AFC but as with any team that has any hope of getting to the promised land otherwise known as the Super Bowl they're going to have get past the Patriots. With that being said,
Indianapolis gets their chance to get the proverbial monkey off their back as the Colts Patriots play in Foxboro November 8th, 2005.
