The Denver Broncos of the National Football League's AFC West Division find themselves in the similar situation they've found themselves at
the beginning of the past few seasons. Can the Broncos clear that imaginary hurdle and rise again to being a one of the stronger contenders in the
AFC and ultimately find themselves in the Super Bowl this season? A lot rests with how successful the Broncos were in the off season overhauling their defense
and how this will translate in terms of wins during this season. In getting the defense to where it needs to be, the Broncos signed former Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Gerard Warren and Courtney Brown
On the offensive side of the ball the Denver Broncos are still being lead by wiry quarterback Jake Plumber. Last season Plumber had a great season as
a pro as he threw for 27 touchdown passes, however, in order to take the next step he must reduce errors, most importantly not throwing as many interceptions
he did last season. Running back Tatum Bell was very productive, running an average of 5.3 yards per carry. The Broncos also seem to be fairly strong when
it comes to their receiving corp. Both Rod Smith and Ashley Lelie were excellent last season, where Smith caught 79 receptions, and Lelie with his outstanding
speed averaged 20.1 yards per catch and scored seven touchdowns.
The Denver Broncos faithful are expecting a lot this season, and a lot can be proven if they can keep key players healthy and be ready to to take on two AFC foes late in the season and may have major playoff implications. On Christmas Eve the Broncos take on the Oakland Raiders and the following week the face what could be an excellent San Diego Charger football team.
