The Dallas Mavericks, 58-24 last season, lost Michael Finley to NBA Western conference foes the San Antonio Spurs, but fans don't fret you still have one of the strongest offensive players in the league with Dirk Nowitzki. The Mavericks also shouldn't lose a step with the pick up of Doug Christie. Christie is aging but is still a serviceable shooting guard, and because of his experience brings balance and steady play to the court. Add those two with other Mavericks Jason Terry, Jerry Stackhouse, and Keith Van Horn and you have a group of good basketball players.

The Mavericks will definitely be a fun team to watch. Not withstanding the antics of their high profile owner Mark Cuban, between Nowitzki, Jason Terry and Christie, and add in bigger contribution by Erick Dampier at the center spot and the Mavericks should be a true contender against the boys from San Antonio for the NBA's Western Conference Title.
