The Baltimore Ravens are known for defense, but offense is one thing the Ravens need to focus on if they want to make a run at the playoffs this upcoming 2005 NFL Season. In the off season the Baltimore Ravens signed free agents Derrick Mason and Samari Rolle, and drafted wide receiver Mark Clayton to hopefully sure up the offensive side. The addition of Mason and Clayton is expected to significantly help quarterback Kyle Boller develop into a complete player at his position. Further with the acquisition of Rolle, the Raven's famed defense just got a lot better. Derrick Mason is considered to be a solid wide out and receiver and it's expected that his addition will really bring out the true talents of quarterback Kyle Boller. Last season Mason caught 96 passes for 1,168 yards and seven touchdowns. Let's not forget about solid running back Jamal Lewis. Although Lewis had a tough season in the 2004 campaign, but still was able to muster up 1,006 yards in rushing. More than that, Lewis ran for 100 yards or more in three of the last four games he played in 2004. Also Todd Heap is a huge producer for the Ravens at wide out and one of Boller's favorite receivers. However, Heap was hampered by injuries for most of the 2004 season and saw little time. Heap, when he played was very productive, so much so he caught nine catches in one game and scored two touchdowns in another game.

The Baltimore Ravens are probably not favored to take the AFC North Division crown from defending division champs the Pittsburgh Steelers, but mark your calendars for October 31st 2005. Halloween the Ravens Steelers take the field at Heinz field. This will surely test the Ravens as this is a nationally televised game.
